“Having a jacket that is so compact and versatile is ideal for bikepacking. A dual purpose garment that works in cold riding conditions and eliminates the need for an extra off-bike jacket.”
Down Insulation
Down offers the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation, and packs down smaller than synthetic loft for easy storage. Plus, the down in our jackets is fully traceable.
Layer Up
The Explore Down Jacket can be worn over a t-shirt, layered with a fleece when cold, or paired with a waterproof shell when wet.
Versatile
A cinchable hood, articulated underarms, and a two-way zip all help to boost on-bike comfort, while a regular fit and ample storage options make this jacket your go-to for just about anything.
ALLIED
We source all the down in our jackets from ALLIED, which includes their traceable down service. This allows you to follow your jacket’s insulation journey from farm to factory and beyond using the lot number supplied with your garment. Go to trackmydown.com to find out more.
Caring for your Down
With the right care, your down jacket can last for many seasons. As well as following the laundry instructions, there are a few easy ways to keep your garments in perfect working order.
~
Rather than washing after every use, consider removing stains using a diluted solution of liquid detergent and water. Spray directly onto the stain, leave for 30 minutes and remove with a clean damp cloth. When you do wash your down garments, avoid harsh washing agents and bleach and use a down-specific detergent on a gentle or hand wash cycle instead. To improve the loft of the down within your garments, try tumble drying them with tennis balls. This helps percolate the fibres and trap more air against the body.
~
When storing your jacket, avoid vacuum bagging as this can damage the loft and promote mildew or mould if there is any residual moisture present. Always use a mesh clothes bag and store in a dry, well-ventilated space.
