The Rapha Foundation was founded with the mission of building a better future for cycling and cyclists, supporting more than 20 organizations around the world that are committed to inspiring, empowering and supporting the next generation of riders and racers from under-represented communities in the sport.
In 2023, USA Cycling launched Search for Speed, a talent identification program on a mission to make track cycling more accessible to diverse and underrepresented communities in Los Angeles. Supported by Rapha, Search for Speed is designed to provide a pathway for youth and young adults with potential to enter the U.S National Team ahead of the 2028 LA Olympics.
“The Search for Speed educates people on another kind of cycling, a sport where there are 18 medals up for grabs at the Olympics, with both men’s and women's track sprint events. We wanted to accomplish another goal alongside finding athletes, we wanted to introduce underrepresented demographics to the sport of cycling. ”
- Sterling Magnell
“I never knew that cycling was really a career, I just thought people did it for fun. But when you hop on the bike, and you see the countdown, it's just like an adrenaline rush.”
- Solomon, ICEF Student
