RACING WITH CHARACTER
From the Roadmap and all in black to neon pink and equal pay, Roubaix Femmes to FKTs, crazy ducks, polka dots and always breaking free – we created, innovated and transformed the sport for the whole world to see.
Together Rapha and EF Pro Cycling rewrote what a WorldTour team can be. Through innovation and originality, character and heart, we’ve made progressive moves to honour a love for the sport and demonstrate its importance to the world. As our partnership comes to a close, we bring you a collection celebrating seven magnificent seasons of disruption, design craft and racing panache.
The party may be ending – but the landscape has changed forever.
This celebration capsule features Pro Team designs including an homage to the debut ‘Blackout’ kit of the partnership. In January 2019 this all-black uniform was the stealthy yet eyebrow-raising leadout to the official unveiling of the explosive neon pink and blue tie-dye at the Tour Down Under. A bold and brilliant statement of intent – we were joining forces to transform bike racing.
Both elegant and wild-styled kit designs made the team fabled from day one, symbolising the racing with character ethos and disruptive approach. Not only did the partnership rock the boat, we crashed the party and brought our own soundsystem. 2019 was also the year Rapha released the Roadmap – plotting a new course and vision for the sport. In 2020 the team was fined for ‘non-compliant’ kit at the Giro d’Italia, attending the team presentation sporting the switchout design created in collaboration with skate brand Palace.
Rapha and EF Pro Cycling’s alternative racing programme moved beyond traditional events to offroad competition and uncharted challenges. The ultimate expression of this was undoubtedly the Alt Tour ridden by Lachlan Morton in 2021, where the Australian pioneer rode the Tour de France solo, unsupported, including transfers, pipping the peloton to Paris with five days to spare.
The Alt Tour was candidly documented in the Gone Racing film series produced by Rapha and EF Pro Cycling. This was a major facet of the partnership from the beginning, expanding the sport's definition and connecting fans to EF Pro Cycling with honest, humorous and heartfelt storytelling.
EF’s riders also played a significant role in the development of Pro Team racewear innovation, including the Aero Jersey, record-breaking Pro Team Bib Shorts III and Ben Healy’s Breakaway Suit.
