Joey Schusler
Born and bred in Boulder, Colorado, Joey is an award-winning filmmaker and a diversely skilled rider who’s brought ambitious backcountry adventures to the heart of mountain biking.

Raised in Colorado, Joey has been mountain biking for as long as he can remember. After entering his first race, aged 13 on home turf in Crested Butte, he rose through the ranks of the US National Series and made his World Cup debut just four years later. Racing for the prestigious Yeti Factory team, where so many pros got their start, Joey was a regular on the World Cup Downhill circuit and also scored top tens in the World Enduro Series.

These days you’re more likely to find Joey on a backcountry bikepacking adventure. He developed his adventuring skills on expeditions through the mountains of Colorado, where he rediscovered his love for film and photography. The success of his first short film, The Bus: A Story of Friends and Fun inspired him to go further in telling stories of human-powered adventures off the beaten path.
Over the years, Joey’s bike and his camera have taken him to the furthest reaches of the globe, working with the biggest names in adventure sports. He has followed amateur mountain bikers in Kathmandu and tackled the most demanding trails the Andes have to offer, all while carrying 30 kilos of camera equipment. Joey strives to inspire riders to take on their own journeys, sharing his love for wild places through his filmmaking, and his fearless expeditions have brought bold adventures on the bike to new heights.
