FAQs
What is the FAR?
The FAR is a one-day epic ride, held simultaneously in 26 locations around the world. One date, everyone riding far together.
How do I sign up?
Sign-up is through the RCC app, available to all members. Open the app and confirm your place. If you're not yet a member, join the Rapha Cycling Club first and you'll have full access. You'll receive full ride details in the weeks before the event.
How far is it?
FARs range from 160km to 200km, varying by location, with shorter routes offered at some FARs. It's called the FAR for a reason: a long day in the saddle, but one designed to be finished, not raced.
What locations are the next FAR held?
FAR takes place across the following locations worldwide: Oceania Canberra and the Strzelecki Ranges, Australia. Asia Kukup → Pontian, Malaysia; Manila, Philippines; Longmen, Baofu, and Hsinchu → Miaoli, Taiwan; Hapcheon, South Korea; and Kumano, Japan. Europe The Chilterns and Manchester: The West Pennines, England; Copenhagen, Denmark; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Havelland and Munich to Burghausen, Germany; and Ibiza, Spain. North America Cragsmoor, Mt. Figueroa, Santa Cruz, Chicago → Lake Zurich → Chicago, Mt. Saint Helens, Blowing Springs | Seligman, Steamboat Springs, and Miami, USA.
Do I need to be a certain level of rider?
You should be comfortable riding long distances. If you can hold a steady pace for a full day, you can ride the FAR.
What support is there on the day?
The FAR is fully supported: ride leaders, support vehicles, control points, mechanical support and nutrition from Maurten. Everything is taken care of, so you can focus on the ride.
What should I bring?
Everything you'd take on a big day out: spares, tools, food, water, lights and layers for changing conditions.
Can I ride with friends who aren't members?
The FAR is a Rapha Cycling Club event, so all riders need to be members. Sign up now.
