OPTIMISED FIT
The jacket is optimised for an on-bike position and features shaped cuffs and an adjustable hem cinch for a more tailored fit.
VISIBILITY
Targeted reflectivity for 360 degree visibility when riding in low light conditions.
PERFORMANCE WITHOUT COMPROMISE
We committed to completely PFAS-Free* production by the end of 2025 as part of our Impact Commitments. In 2021, our materials team started exploring new technologies that could match our performance expectations without the use of PFAS chemicals that can harm the environment.
After extensive research against a criteria of waterproof protection, breathability and product durability, our long-term partner, Gore, presented us with their latest innovation – an ePE (expanded polyethylene) membrane, engineered for longevity that is PFAS-Free, meaning it’s made without intentionally added fluorocarbons. This evolved GORE‑TEX Fabric and its innovative ePE membrane is lightweight yet strong, bluesign® approved and GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY.
Tested to the Limit
Our global wear testing programme is industry leading, working with Rapha’s product engineering and materials teams to ensure the exceptional performance of every design.
Starting testing during the Festive 500 in the UK in 2021, the new GORE-TEX Fabric was initially sampled into an older rain cape. Multiple samples were then trialled in various climates across Europe, Australia, the USA and beyond. And not just out in the field, we worked with Gore at their rain tower test facility in Livingston, Scotland, to see how the fabric performed under a deluge.
The sample jackets were not only worn in but lived in: stashed in jersey pockets and bar bags, enduring real-world usage to ensure longevity of the waterproofing.
After 30 washes, 13,250 kilometres and over 600 hours of riding time later, the samples were assessed for final validation. Our team found zero membrane degradation and no water ingress. The design was then refined and developed into the jacket we have today.
Embrace the Elements
“Instead of expressing their gratitude for the rain by getting wet, people walk around with umbrellas.
