What sort of terrain can I expect? The terrain, difficulty level, and ideal bike for each Escape varies. Gravel features in some of them, while others tackle hilly terrain. On each event description page, there will be full details of both the terrain and difficulty level. Escapes are supportive environments, but we do ask all members to consider the difficulty and terrain before joining.

Will start and end locations be disclosed for accommodation purposes? The Escapes’ ride locations are included on the event description page. In some cases, accommodation is included while in others we have secured priority on a particular hotel. Staying in the Escape hotel is not mandatory. Feel free to contact the host to enquire about accommodation recommendations.

What will the routes be like? The specific routes will be shared with participants via email at least two weeks before the Escape. The total distance, elevation, difficulty and pace options are listed on the event page, so please consider this before booking.

Will an itinerary be provided? Yes, an itinerary will be shared within a week of the event. This will be shared on the App (Chat) and via email.

Will GPX be provided? Yes, the routes will be shared within a week of the event. Routes may be shared with the broader Club afterwards so more riders can Escape.

Can I join an Escape on my own? Escapes are designed to allow RCC members to come together and socialise. Although there may be a strong number of attendees from the local Chapter or region, we welcome solo riders from further afield to join the ride and connect with their Club. Reach out to the local host if you have any concerns in advance.

What is the purchase deadline? The purchasing deadline for each event is listed on the event description page. Typically, purchase deadlines are at least 3 weeks before the event takes place. Please note that places on Escapes are limited.

What is covered by the price of admission? Please check the individual event tickets for what costs are covered. Generally, the price of admission covers mapped routes, Ride Leader support, a gathering, and some light refreshments, with some Escapes providing accommodation. The price of admission covers entry for one participant.

Am I eligible for a refund or exchange? Escapes are non-refundable. However, we will endeavour to facilitate a ticket swap if a member finds a replacement rider. Reach out to the local host if you have any concerns in advance.
