Rapha Race Radio

Roadside dispatches from the best bike races in the world

21 July 2018

Bike racing is bonkers. It is a sport as beautiful as it is ugly, as exciting as it is boring, as pure as it is tainted. And that’s why we love it.

This year, Rapha is taking you roadside to the world’s biggest races, sending a team out to follow the professional sport in the most unprofessional way possible.

This is Rapha Race Radio. Unlicensed, unofficial, very often unrepeatable in print. Filmed with fans, by fans, the episodes show you the best and the worst of the sport, taking you beyond the existing coverage to celebrate moments of heroism and panache, criticise the ills and excess, and ignore everything in between.

Over and out.

MEET THE TEAM

Three fans and one legend.

Harry

Harry loves Lance Armstrong, Jan Ullrich, and Alexandre Vinokourov. Or at least he did when he was a teenager falling in love with the sport. Harry doesn’t have heroes anymore.

Stuart

Stuart doesn’t write about himself in the third person. [He’s a bearded Scot who once enjoyed the dubious honour of modelling alongside 2006 Tour de France runner-up winner Oscar Pereiro – Ed.]

Kitty

A Scouser* with a gin habit, Kitty knows absolutely nothing about pro bike racing. But she’s enthusiastic. * Affectionate term for people from Liverpool.

Juan Antonio

One of the great classics riders of his generation, and now the most charming man on cycling TV for Eurosport. Doesn’t realise what he’s letting himself in for.
