RCC Summit Tuscany

Rapha Cycling Club Summit Tuscany

The first RCC Summit brought together more than 60 RCC members from 10 chapters around the world to ride, race, and celebrate in beautiful Tuscany, Italy.

20 June 2016

The inaugural RCC Summit was held in a stunning location 25km north of Florence, in the foothills of the Apennines. Known globally for its culture, cuisine and wine, the area is also one of the most beautiful places to ride a bike.

Members from RCC chapters in Singapore, London, Amsterdam, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Los Angeles, Manchester and Munich all gathered to enjoy three days of challenging riding through the Tuscan hills surrounding the Summit hotel. They were joined on the road by special guests including Team Sky rider Elia Viviani, former pro and winner of the 1988 Giro Andy Hampsten, and Mark Cavendish’s coach Jon Baker.

In the evenings, the days efforts were rewarded with Italian food and live music, and talks from cycling writer Herbie Sykes on the history of Italian cycling, head of design at Rapha Alex Valdman, and of course, Rapha founder and CEO Simon Mottram.

The RCC exists to create a global community of passionate road riders, underpinned by great service and support from Rapha. Alongside the annual Summits, members enjoy organised rides in 17 local chapters based around the world, early access to the latest Rapha products and events, and the chance to engage with a fast-growing network of more than 6,000 fellow cyclists.
