The former Swiss pro was renowned as much for his riding prowess as his immaculate appearance – his jerseys had special pockets sewn in to fit a comb, a bottle of eau de cologne and a sponge – and has been immortalised by illustrator Matt Blease in a special edition collection by Rapha, our own chapeau to charming pedalling.
